For This Palm, the Wetter the Better
The Majesty Palm is becoming increasingly popular as a bright green accent indoors. However, with the name “Rivularis” in its Latin title, this palm likes lots of humidity and frequent watering. In fact, in its native Madagascar, you’d usually find it growing along rivers or ponds. It loves to have its roots constantly moist.
Though it is slow growing, you’ll need to give this palm the space it will command in your outdoor garden. It can grow upward of 50 feet, with 8 foot long fronds. These palms do like the shade, but are not cold tolerant.
