Description
A Flowering Jacaranda that Can Stand Up to Florida Summers
The Jacaranda Caerulea is one of the most beautiful ornamental trees native to the Bahamas. Smaller than the more common Jacaranda, its crown is more narrow and upright – making it a great choice for smaller spaces. Lush bell-shaped blue-violet flowers appear throughout late spring and summer, and attract several species of butterflies. In the islands, this is also known as the Cancer Tree, as herbalists apply a parched leaf decoction to skin cancer, eczema and other skin ailments.
The Bahama Jacaranda will thrive in our southern soil, and can reach 20 ft. in height. Plant in full sun.
