Alocasia portei, Elephant Ear

Description

This alocasia is known as the “Malaysian Monster” for good reason. In the landscape this monster can get up to twelve feet tall! Thankfully it keeps to a more manageable size indoors.  But it’s just as eye-catching with large, unusual, deeply lobed leaves and marbled stems. With its cool shape and ultra-tropical look, this plant is definitely a conversation piece.
