The Kalanchoe Thyrsiflora is a light-loving beauty known for its uniquely shaped leaves. If placed in a bright spot, the grey green leaves acquire a reddish hue. Mature plants may even produce a spike of fragrant yellow flowers in the spring.
This hardy South African succulent is popular for its low maintenance care. The Flapjack (also called Paddle Plant or Desert Cabbage) is drought tolerant. Make sure its soil is never soggy, and you plant it in fast draining soil. The plant does beautifully indoors, even tolerating the dry air of heated homes. After winter is over and you want to move the plant outdoors, make sure to do so gradually, to avoid scorching its leaves.
